New Features and Improvements
AtScale contains the following new features and improvements.
2022.4.1
In-memory dimensional aggregates is now GA
The in-memory dimensional aggregates functionality is now GA. For more information, see In-Memory Dimensional Aggregates.
Deactivating active aggregate instances
Using the new aggregates.demandDefined.disabled.deactivate
setting you
can choose whether to deactivate active aggregate instances if
demand-defined aggregates are disabled. For details, see Aggregate
Creation
Settings.

BigQuery Project Id for query execution
When editing the connection for a Google BigQuery data warehouse, you could use the new Project Id for query execution option to enter the BigQuery project in which queries are executed. For details, see Adding Google BigQuery Data Warehouses.

2022.4.0
Dimension Calculation Groups
Dimension Calculation Groups offer Data Architects a simplifying alternative to Calculated Measures by enabling the expression of boiler-plate calculations across multiple Measures. This feature defines calculations as dimension members, and removes static references to individual Measures. At run-time, workbook authors evaluate the dimension calculations over an arbitrary set of measures. Using this feature the number of Calculated Measures in a model can be reduced by a factor equal to the number of measures in the model. For details, see Using Dimension Calculation Groups.

Support for XMLA compression
When using BI clients that use XMLA, you can improve the communication
by enabling Xpress compression. You can do this using the new
soap.xpress.enabled
engine setting.
ATSCALE-10022
ADC-based impersonation for Google BigQuery
When using Google BigQuery as a data warehouse, you can now configure AtScale to use Application Default Credentials (ADC) impersonated with Service Account. For details, see Adding Google BigQuery Data Warehouses.
ATSCALE-12433
Support for Unity Catalog
When using Databricks as a data warehouse you can now use Unity Catalog. For details, see Adding Databricks Data Warehouses.
ATSCALE-9274
Using the %NOJOURN parameter for IRIS
InterSystems IRIS 2022.2 introduces the new %NOJOURN parameter for the
create table command. If you use this or newer version of IRIS as a data
warehouse, you can enable the new AtScale engine setting
aggregates.create.iris.nojourn.enabled
to set aggregates to be created
with the %NOJOURN keyword. For details, see Settings specific for
data
warehouses.
ATSCALE-11392
Enabling compression of AtScale aggregates on DB2
When using DB2 as a data warehouse, you can now enable value and row compression, and specify the type of row compression to be used. Enabling compression of AtScale aggregates could lead to improvements in disk space usage. For details, see Settings specific for data warehouses.
ATSCALE-1729
Cube-level settings for aggregates
Many of the aggregate configuration settings can now be set at cube level. For details, see Cube Level Configuration Settings.
ATSCALE-1856
Limiting Dimension-only queries
When using very large dimensions, you can use the new
query.language.mdx.dimquery.result.limit
setting to set the number of
data rows to be returned for Dimension-only queries. For details, see
Query
Settings.
ATSCALE-13161
Value Column label unified
In previous releases, the dialogs for creating or editing dimensions, levels, and secondary attributes contained a field labeled either Value Column or Name Column. Now this field is labeled Value Column in all of these dialogs.
ATSCALE-4186
Measure filtering for SuperDAX MD
Measure filtering is now supported for SuperDAX MD queries.
ATSCALE-11544
Displaying Query-based datasets
Query-based datasets are now displayed on the canvas with a different color, which differentiates them from the other datasets included in the cube.
ATSCALE-7231
Enhanced message for unsupported aggregation function
The "Unsupported aggregation function used within Aggregate function" message that appeared in the Queries screen is enhanced. It now contains information about the names of the Measure and the Calculation that triggered the error.
