Managing User Access and Security

You can manage users, groups, and user authentication for your organization via the Identity Broker, which is AtScale's local directory service. The Identity Broker can optionally be paired with your organization's identity provider or LDAP server.

For test environments, you can manage users with the Identity Broker alone. Note that this is not recommended for production environments.

Important

Use AtScale's local directory service for testing only. Do not use it in production environments. This directory service is not meant to support the types of workloads that are common to production environments.

Before using AtScale in production, you must configure your AtScale organization to use an external IdP, such as Entra ID or Okta, or an LDAP service. For more information, see Using External Authentication. Note that if you manage your users with an IdP or LDAP service, you must still configure groups and roles via the Identity Broker.
